Verified Looks Good. Should Make a Great Gift
Anyone who hasn't acquired a cocktail mixing set yet will be thrilled to get this in their hands. The metal units are all well designed and feel solid. The bamboo stand and mixed drink suggestion book are an extra bonus. The mixer bottle itself has a pleasing diamond etched pattern that looks awesome. The seal is a rubber gasket that looks like it comes off easily to clean, but the seal is definitely there when you put that lid on. I had trouble prying the top off without the strainer cap on. The rest of the items all have golf-themed design in mind. I am not a golfer, bit I do not intend to give this away. Any golfer guests I have will be jealous when then see this set. I got it for the functionality and to keep it all compact. It does that in spades. The jigger is a very solid double sided unit, and I noticed it has multiple lines etched in for assistance in measuring on the inside each cup. Ingenious. It does help if you know what you are doing to be able to get the most out of that, but I'm going to learn! The separate paddle strainer feels nice and solid, but light. The mixing spoon/muddler is just heavy enough to help you tamp on that stuff you need to crush, but not heavy enough to be a pain to use when just stirring. The "spoon" side is actually a lot larger than I would expect. Probably great for scooping up olives or cherries without wrestling to get them on the end.The mixing flag stick is probably a bit redundant, but it looks cool if you leave it in a drink as an accent. The other spoon is too large for that.I think this would make a well-received gift for those who do a lot of entertaining or who like making mixed drinks and don't already have a set, or their set is older, or that person REALLY likes golf...and drinking. My only possible suggestion to the manufacturer for improvement is to add a slot along the back for the drink suggestions flipbook item. That doesn't really have a "place" and I'm afraid I'll lose it, but the bamboo holder might JUST be able to fit it in behind on the right side of the set if there were a narrow slot where it could be stored upright with the edges down and the spiral bit up.I highly recommend.
